My dog growled at me. He literally turned and looked at me—barked, bared his teeth, and growled.
It was a beautiful fall morning. A great day for a dove shoot.
Cool air, a light breeze, and the birds were coming in low and slow.
Whiskey, my then 8-year-old Lab, sat at my side waiting for the first bird to fall.
And I missed.
An easy cross. Then an easy oncoming bird. Then one overhead. Over and over—almost a full box of shells—and not one bird in the bag.
I was frustrated and Whiskey had had enough.If you’ve ever had that kind of morning, you know exactly what I mean when I say missing sucks. But when your dog growls at you, something has to change!
At Hollywood Farms, we have developed a two-day program with NSCA certified instructors to help you miss less, enjoy wingshooting more, bag more birds, and make your dog happy! It’s a simple curriculum that is done in an afternoon and morning (about 5 hours) of personal, private and (for you and your dog) priceless instruction.
Wingshooting School at Hollywood Farms
We’ve developed a two-day training experience to help you miss less, enjoy wingshooting more, bag more birds—and maybe even earn back your dog’s respect.
With a focused, personal, and effective curriculum in just one afternoon and morning, our NSCA-certified instructors will give you real tools you’ll use in the field this fall.

Two five-stand courses—one for upland birds (dove, pheasant, grouse, rabbit), one for waterfowl presentations

A simulated walking quail course with “dogs” to replicate a true hunting experience

Private Lessons and Small Groups Welcome
We offer private instruction, but we love groups—up to 10 shooters.
In a group, you’ll learn from each other, repeat key techniques, and add just enough friendly pressure to simulate the field. After all, most of us don’t hunt alone.

We’re also booking dove and quail hunts now for the 2025–2026 season, and spots are filling fast. Every hunt is fully private, and your group will have exclusive access to all 1,200 acres.
