Dear Friends of Hollywood Farms,
May and June have been full-throttle months at Hollywood Farms.
Lots of mowing, plowing, clearing, cleaning, planting, and habitat work.
The kind of effort that shapes the season to come. And if you’re wondering what it all adds up to—it’s a whole lot of fast, slow, beautiful, and exciting.
Some things happen fast.
The sunflowers were planted in late April, and by May 20 they were up and looking strong. Two weeks later they were knee high. Two more weeks and they were over my head—the tallest I’ve ever seen! The heads are just now blooming and they’re going to be massive.
It’s shaping up to be a great dove season, and we still have one date left: October 3–4, a Friday afternoon–Saturday morning hunt for up to 10 shooters.
The season is just around the corner. Come see those sunflowers in full bloom.

Some things take time.
In the spring of 2022, a tornado hit the farm. Damage was localized, but one stand of 22-year-old longleaf pines took a heavy hit. We had to clear-cut more than we wanted, and spring rains turned the area into a muddy mess.
It took nearly three years to dry out and clean up the field properly—but now it’s restored, open, and beautiful. We’re planting a wildlife mix for deer, turkey, and quail and leaving a large buffer of native grass and weeds for the wild quail already nesting around the field.
We expect some great hunts in this area come fall and winter. You should be here for it.

Beautiful: Flowers, Fellowship, and the Front Porch
The older I get, the more I appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
I recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend at Refuge Ranch in Wyoming with a great group of men—fly fishing, hiking, and riding through some of the most breathtaking country you’ve ever seen. My new Russell Birdshooters got broken in good on the trails, even though the streams were running too high to fish.
Back home, the beauty keeps coming. We planted two acres of wildflowers behind the pavilion, and they are spectacular this year. So much so that I’ve already ordered seed for next season. The flowers around the old house are just as striking. This place is timeless—and it shows.
We host corporate, family, educational, and hunting events all year long. Just tell us what you want, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen.

Exciting: A New Chapter for Quail Forever
Now for the exciting part.
A few months ago, I looked around for a local Quail Forever chapter here in Middle Georgia—and realized there wasn’t one. So I reached out to Kenny Barker, the regional rep, and Hollywood Farms hosted an informational meeting to get one started.
Quail Forever’s mission is simple:
“To conserve quail and other wildlife habitat through habitat improvements, public access, education, and conservation advocacy.”
We’ll be hosting another meeting in early August to elect officers and plan a fundraising banquet for late October or early November. One thing that makes Quail Forever special: local chapters keep 100% of what they raise—and spend it locally on habitat.
We’re proud to be involved. If you’re interested, reach out to me or contact Quail Forever.

We believe this kind of work fits perfectly with our mission:
“To steward the land and resources of Hollywood Farms for God’s glory while creating magical guest and family experiences.”
We hope you’ll visit the website and book a time to come see it all for yourself.
Warm Regards,
Chuck Duggan & The Hollywood Farms Team
